Shreya Ghoshal hates being called 'playback'
Shreya Ghoshal says she hates the practice of categorising crooners as "playback singers" in the Indian film industry.
"I'll tell you that one sad part of our industry is that everything is behind the screen. Singers are called playback, which is very derogatory according to me," Shreya told IANS.
The young and talented crooner, who has even won a national award, regrets that it takes a long time for the audience to know the real person behind the voices they love.
"When we go to perform anywhere, people come to see us and feel the personality. But the process of knowing how we look, how we talk, how we behave etc is very slow," she added.
Shreya is currently seen as a judge on Sony Entertainment Television's music reality show "X-Factor" along with Sonu Niigaam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Shreya Ghoshal's upcoming malayalam songs
- Shreya ghoshal has sung a song in the movie named ' mazhavillin attam vare', directed by the famous lyricist kaithapram dhamodaran namboothiri. The other songs will be rendered by KJ Yesudas, Udit Narayan, Shankar Mahadevan, KS Chitra, andDeepankuran. Music director is Deepankuran, son of kaithpram.Shreya has 2 songs in the upcoming movie ' rathinirvedam' which is the remake of yesterday classic.
- Shreya Ghoshal has sung "Chembarathi" in d Malayalam Movie "Manikyakallu"..Its a duet..Music by M.Jayachanderan..she may hv more songs.

After creating waves abroad, Sony TV brings in the biggest reality show, X-Factor, to India. The singing reality show not only focuses on solo, but promises to give great singing talents in teams as well.
In the judging panel will be prominent faces from Bollywood.
Sonu Nigam was already finalised as one of the judges and reports of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salim Merchant being the other two judges were making rounds. And now we hear is that Shreya Ghoshal will join hands withSonu Nigam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the hunt of the greatest singing sensation.
The channel had been hunting names to be in the panel of judges, but now the channel has penned down to these three judges who have their X- factors in them. The channel has finalized Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to be the judge and co incidentally they too have an X-factor in their name, as their names starts with the common letter 'S'.
